An artist that is not easy to categorize, he flows effortlessly from funk, soul, blues, rock to hip hop. The breadth of talent and styles is almost staggering. A stalwart on the underground scene in the Twin Cities, he has had a long standing tenure as one half of the lead emcees in the hip hop band, Leroy Smokes. His tenure with the band suggests the kind of potential embodied in a performer like Buss One. The bands most recent release, Love Hustle Theatre, which he also co-produced, won the L.A. Music Awards as the Best Rap Album of the Year in 2007. The band also won the Twin Cities portion of the Bodog Battle of the Bands contest, and eventually reached the top 10.
Embarking on a solo career, Buss One readies his debut album, Baby's Beautiful Mind Blow, which promises to be a must have for underground heads and music enthusiasts alike, melding rock, r+b, jazz, experimental funk, and straight up hip hop.
