Seen as a triple threat, Marie is sure to take the industry by storm as she graces the challenges of popular music with her unique writing and soulful vocal talents. The Singer/Songwriter is currently making a buzz within the industry with her amazing voice, humble spirit, and beautiful smile. With a sincere love for people, Marie envisions herself and her music as a soulful-love restorer. Idolizing her spiritual mother, Dr. Jewel Tankard, Marie has adopted the theme, Model in His Image. “The vision that God has given me is to equip listeners in the area of Godly love as it relates to decision making and relationships. Every success and failure in life is based on the decisions we make.” Using life examples along with beautifully orchestrated vocals mixed with her unique melodic melodies Marie wows you while leaving your heart screaming for more.
Marie knew early on that she was born to be a star, following her mother’s footsteps she began singing at the age of 3. Upon winning Apollo twice at the ages 15 and 16 only finances kept the Chicago native from winning three consecutive times. Shortly after her performances at Apollo she inked an independent record deal with an R&B label out of Chicago. The deal failed to give Marie a sense of peace and the passion fulfilling life that she so willfully desired. Marie soon left the struggling label to begin her own journey to find the stardom she so rightly deserved. This journey toured Marie all over the country in dire search for that passion fulfilling life that seemed to elude her grasp. Despite leaving family, Marie followed her heart and moved to Murfreesboro, TN in August of 2005. While staying in TN, Marie made several appearances and recordings during the summer of 2006 that landing her with top producers such as, The 2004 BMI Urban Award Winner Teddy Bishop, Brain Cox, and ultimately performing a private audition for the most powerful African American in the music business, LA Reid. This was the big break Marie had been dreaming about and searching for. Prior to connecting with these top producers Marie found that passion fulfilling life when she was invited to visit The Destiny Center Church pastured by Drs. Ben & Jewel Tankard. “I heard the word of God and truly felt the love of God. I just wanted more.” This decision moved Marie to walk away from what she felt was her big break in the R&B music industry and seek first the kingdom of God.
Now married to her loving husband, Willie Thomas, along with their beautiful daughter, Faith JoNaye Thomas, Marie is truly living out her dream- life, full of passion and peace. My ultimate desire is to inspire others to seek the creator and provider of that passion fulfilled life.
