The Biography of Rachel Black


Rachel Black was born in Minneapolis, MN. She moved to New York City as an adolescent, then back to Minnesota as a teenager. Her life was full of life’s ups and downs and these circumstances inspired her to write songs about life and the lessons she learned.

She has been a dynamic performer since the age of eight. During one of her mother’s many opera performances Rachel started singing in the audience. As Rachel’s vibrant young voice resonated throughout the hall, which left the audience spell bound, Rachel was called to the stage by her mother who stopped singing. There, Rachel finished singing her aria O Mio Ba Bino Caro entirely in Italian. She received a standing ovation with a commanding presence that left no doubt she was on stage where she belonged. From that defining moment in the young performer’s life, a desire was birthed to perform all over the world.


Rachel’s independent debut release is entitled “Rachel Black”. Rachel pours out her emotions and feelings. Rachel’s endeavor is to write songs that inspire her listeners to “Never Give Up”.

Rachel’s independent release on the Black Label has received much attention and the song “More” and two new songs, “The Rain” and “Let Me Know” are in continual rotation on Minneapolis based KMOJ 89.9 FM and receive numerous spins on Minneapolis based B96.3 as well. Attention from the airplay resulted in a sell-out run on her first 3000 discs through sales on the Internet and in Minneapolis retail locations.

Ms. Black has performed with a wide range of artist including 2live crew, Dave Hollister, Kelly Price, Bow Wow, Mario and more. “Performing is what truly keeps me going. I sing for them”, Ms. Black states.
